I put the blame for the pci problems with Via AND creative. True, creative soundblaster live had compatibility problems with a variety of motherboards, mainly due to pci spec (even gave me some problems on my old intel board). I also put some blame on VIA, their chipset just gives me headaches...

Sounds like you have your network card and sb live! on the same IRQ. I suggest you change the positions of your sb live and network card. And make sure they are not sharing IRQs...
