Don't buy a CX series. Just don't. They are completely terrible value. They are only rated for 35c at maximum load, which is insanely low. Also meh efficiency, meh fan, meh build quality... They just aren't worth the money considering what you can get for a little more.
CS is a bit better...
I'm a little confused what's going on here. I have a 6600K and an MSI Z170A Krait Gaming. At idle, according to hwmonitor, my CPU uncore power is 11W. This is just sitting at the desktop, web browsing, etc. But if I fire up a 3D game, it drops down to 3-6W.
What's going on here? I've...
400 hours is definitely within the infant mortality range, where you have high drive failure rate. I have 3 of these drives, two of them with over a full year of solid 24/7 operation, and one with about a month on it so far.
The answer is no (probably). The 2.5" Laptop drives (and SSDs) only use +5V. 3.5" Desktop drives also require +12V. The SATA connector may have pinouts for the +12V, but I'd be shocked if your average laptop actually have +12V running to the actual SATA connector on the motherboard. There...
It's a mediocre at BEST PSU with absolute crap capacitors that will likely last 2-3 years on the high side.

If you are looking for a new PSU, look at an EVGA 550 Supernova G2, or a Corsair RM550X. Really, other than...
It amazes me how uninformed so many people are when it comes to power supplies. The "bigger is better" mentality is sure alive and well. Let's look at this.
The R9 390 is a 300W TDP card
The FX8320E is a 95W TDP CPU
So 400W so far.
Let's allot at worst another 75W for Motherboard, RAM, HDD...
So you wouldn't buy likely the most reliable drives today because some IBM drives a couple decades ago had problems? Man this is like the grandpas who won't buy Chevy in 2015 because he had a '75 that "had a few problems so they are all junk".
I've never had good luck with Seagate drives, and...
You can actually order replacement mounting hardware from coolermasters online store which includes mounting brackets. Also, I used a Cooler Master blade master 120, which is actually superior to the stock fan on the 212+ evo anyway...
Of the two, the optiplex is probably the better built system, but you could have issues with either. This was the era where Dell was using the nippon chemi-con KZJ and Rubycon MCZ series mainboard caps. The KZJ especially are prone to bursting and leaking. We are in the process of a Windows 7...

The intel CPU is $194 and the AMD is $145.
It gets even more embarassing for AMD when you look here.

The i3-4360 is the same price as the AMD, while being a dual core, and still manages...
As it turns out it seems either the CPU or motherboard is faulty. I put in a spare video card and started getting the same BSOD at boot, and crash at desktop when the drivers are loaded/installed. With a 750 and with an r5 220 as well. But if I put a video card in the bottom pcie slot...
Yes, and yes. I even tried installing the previous driver version. Every time I reboot Windows reinstalls the driver and I have to go in and uninstall it so my computer is usable. Also, I ran a pass of memtest86+ just to make sure that somehow bad RAM wasn't the culprit. It came back clean. Do I...
While my EVGA GTX 970 SSC goes off for RMA (for the SECOND time) I have to use my integrated graphics. Funny thing though, when I install the intel graphics driver (including when windows 10 tries to install automatically) THIS happens
(epileptics beware)...
