I believe the nForce4 mobos have the PCI & PCIe frequencies locked by default.
Also, as mentioned above, I am able to o/c from the OS GUI, using ClockGen.
ECS' official response was -
we do not support Overclocking
BIOS has protecting build in to prevent overclocking
huh??? :)
Received a response from ECS on my original question about connecting DVD drives to the SiS controller -
SIS180 controller does not support Optical drives
:(
Use the nVidia Audio Drivers and nVidia Audio Utility from the 6.53 Drivers you downloaded. They give you the option to configure the Front and Rear speakers.
Genius99 - Glad I could help! :)
I have a couple of questions about this board -

I will appreciate if you can let me know...
I've found the KN1 to be extremely stable, on both WinXP-32Pro as well as on WinXP-64.
ClockGen allows me to o/c my Athlon64 3000+ to (245*9) 2.2GHz, with the HyperTransport at x4 (980MHz) and x5 (1225MHz).
However, I am unable to set the clocks higher then 220*9 (1980MHz) in the BIOS itself...
I've tried connecting 1 Sony DVD-ROM & 1 NEC3250 DVD+-RW to the SiS180 PATA controller on the ECS KN1 mobo and it does not work.
One of 2 things happen.
The SiS BIOS shows both drives as the NEC or or recognises one and then hangs.
I was wondering if anyone has attached 2 ATAPI devices to...
I have the same mobo and have drives config as follows:
1) 2 x 80GB PATA drives on Pri (IDE0) Master & Pri (IDE0) Slave
2) DVD+-RW on Sec (IDE1) Master & DVD-ROM on Sec (IDE1) Slave.
3) 1 x 160GB PATA on SiS 180 IDE Master
In the BIOS, I enabled RAID for IDE0 Master & IDE0 Slave and...
The board does not like like it is readily available. ZipZoomFly's not in stock, and NewEgg carried the info for a while, with an ETA of 02/23/05, when the page just disappeared...
Does anyone here have any personal experience with this board?
TIA
For a quick overview of different RAID levels, look here
You ned a minimum of 3 drives for a RAID-5 Array. The total array is reduced by 1 drive. (eg: if you use 3 drives of 80GB each, the RAID 5 array will be 2x80=160GB. If you use 5 drives of 80GB each, the arrray will be 4x80=320GB.)
Most of the CAT5/CAT5E cable rolls have a solid copper core. Not suitable for crimping. Good for punching (like in patch panels and wall sockets). Patch Cables have a multi-stranded core, which makes it more flexible and suitable for crimping.
Most hand-made patch-cables which use the solid...
