WORLD OF WARCRAFT FREE 10 DAY TRIAL!!!!!

On a trial account you can't talk on the channels (looking for group, trade, general, local/world defense) but you can use the whisper, tell, say, party, and raid commands, like jaguar said. I had a trial account before I upgraded and it gets really annoying only being able to watch the channels.

Programs take ages to load

Things only freeze up for a few minutes immediately after I connect to the internet. I can't test this in safe mode or safe mode with networking because it wont let me connect to the internet. I can open folders on the desktop (eg. My Documents) while it is 'frozen' but IE, Outlook, Task Manager...

MFC42.dll for IE6 SP2

there is a 6.2.xxxx.x dll in the dll cache, when I run sfc\scannow it asks for the ''windows xp home edition'' CD. What does it say when it wants the SP2 CD? Also every time I run sfc\scannow it always has loads of dlls to replace, what would be putting them wrong in the first place?

Yes, in: windows\SxS local settings folder as well as a few program folders, download accelerater, 3Dmark, etc

I did SFC\scannow yesterday, didnt fix it. My XP CD doesn't like it if I try and use it, it comes up with an error that says the installed version is newer than the version on the CD (SP2 is installed)

When IE crashed the event viewer report generated after the crash said that the faulting module was mfc42.dll version 6.0.8665.0. I don't know where it got that from.. Is IE supposed to use the system32 dll?

Mine's version 6.0.8665.0 for IE (according to event viewer) but most of my other ones including the one in C:\\windows\system32 is version 6.02.4131.0 like yours. Don't know if updating it will screw things up...

A way to permanently discharge static eletricity?

I think it would take a pretty big static spark to fry something instantly, I read somewhere that it often takes months for damage from small sparks to start effecting components

Actually you aren't supposed to plug it into the wall, even when the switch is off. The chassis itself is supposed to be big enough to dispel any static by itself
