question about the 5900SE

yes, there are 2 settings, 2d and 3d. When card uses OGL or D3D, the performance settings are active, 2d is used whenever else. If you want to OC in powerstrip, select 3d more first and then OC the core. 3Dmark uses the "2d" Settings when it measures the core speed, but the test is in 3D. (try...

9600XT or 5900SE (OR 9700 PRO?)

Alright, i got the card today (evga 5900se) first of all, there are 2 modes, 2d and 3d (powerstrip); 2d is 300/700, 3d is 400/700. 3D mark measures in 2d mode, but tests in 3d mode. I raised the sliders in powerstrip (almost randomly) to 450/792 and got 5623 3dmarks, no artifacts (and looking...

9600XT or 5900SE (OR 9700 PRO?)

Tom's 5900 "XT" was clocked at 300 core instead of 400 on FS for whatever reason.

well according to firing squad and some other review sites, 5900SE is almost like the radeon 9800 (+/-1-2% difference) and the Radeon 9800 is very close to 9700 Pro (also a few percent) so... 9700 pro is a few frames faster. But 5900SE is cheaper :P ($184 on newegg yesterday)

there was a misunderstanding and some manual mistakes and dell selling dvd+r drive as -+r, but nec isn't selling any +- drives yet. They aren't even out :) (Nec ND-1300)

Need help (w/ CDRW)

ok, did Advansys update (firmware), didn't help. I don't think the cdrw is updatable (got 1.0e firmware now) couldn't find a newer version.
