DDR Memory timing explanation????

I've been rearching motherboard/cpu/memory combinations to replace my current aging Athlon XP 1600+ machine and have come across some stuff with memory that I don't understand. I was specifically looking at the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe, a Gigabyte and MSI board as well and their recommended memory...

Can Asus P4C800-E Deluxe's onboard LAN be disabled?

Greetings, I've been looking at getting this motherboard to upgrade my current machine and have a 2.4 ghz wireless network in my house which requiers me to use the D-Link wireless NIC in my new chassis. Since the P4C800-E Dlx comes with onboard NIC's, can they be easily disabled in the BIOS...

Check the pagefile as well, see if it is sitting on C: If so, move it to F: and that should probably take care of it once you try the other suggestions in this post. Regards

Help me get started with website hosting please!

If you're gonna be running a Chat system, forums and also providing "websites" to ~75 kids or so, space and bandwith is going to have to be your priority issues. Bandwidth isn't too bad as most hosting plans usually allow for about 8 gig or more. But space is tricky thing. So as you are looking...

IE Window resizing

Make sure that in Windows Explorer the status bar is set (View->Status Bar), once that is done for some unknown reason the IE Status Bar will also remain once set. Don't even ask me why. :D Regards

No problem, don't you like it how Microsoft subtely changes these UI things so that even if you've been using WIndows for years you feel like a complete newbie?? :) Regards

Uninstall Outlook Express!

A lot of these programs can be considered to a Comptuer Plague or Cancer. Especially if it came from Microsoft. There is no clear way of removing OE and other programs and if you do, the resultant behaviour of the computer is very unpredictable. In defence of OE, I can tell you that it takes...

WinXP, how to change the size of QuickLaunch Bar?

Methinks you've got the Taskbar locked. Right click in a clear Blue section of the Taskbar, uncheck the Lock the Taskbar option, resize your quick launch bar and re-lock. Regards

Musicmatch Jukebox is what you're looking for. It has a file conversion tool, you can convert the files from MP3 to WAV and then reencode to MP3 with whatever bitrate you want. Regards

Looking for a game (Space Sim)

Video wont skip forward

You don't provide a lot of info, but if you are using Windows Media Player >= 7.0 and a ASF file or so, then this is "correct" behaviour. WMP 6.0 allowed you to move around on ASF files, and it would take a couple of seconds to sync up, but the new version of WMP don't allow such functions...
