Ok I found out what the problem is, maybe someone could help me with the next step of what to do now that I figured it out.
I have an HP dv6 6104nr laptop, a guess a rather common problem people are having with them is with overheating but I have yet to find someone that has a solution to fix...
Hi all, I'm having a very strange problem with my laptop and I'm tending to think that the problem is more hardware related than it is software. The reason I think this is because I'm dual booting windows 7 and Ubuntu and the problem exists in both operating systems(unable to connect to wifi.)...
I cannot figure out how to get fedora to install correctly on my computer, I've tried figuring the problem with a UEFI/bios tutorial on the fedora website but to no avail; I know I'm doing something wrong still but I can't figure out what. While installing I booted with the UEFI version of my...
Yea I myself am thinking for my next upgrade will be a nice SSD, I was thinking about ordering 2 more sticks of RAM to make it a total of 16gb but I don't think that'll actually help my gaming much(I have a 560 ti) so I'm definitely thinking SSD. Which I really know nothing about I have to do...
Thank you so much fixbsod, that was hugely helpful!
To try to help answer your question what voltage is your 1866 RAM rated to run at?
I had the same problem as I tried to OC my 1600 to 1866 and said overclock failed and my computer kept rebooting without getting to the bios even. So I had to...
My BIOS says my RAM is running at 1600MHz which my Mobo is rated for without overclocking and was automatically set to 1600MHz. Now I open up CPU-Z and under the Memory Tab it says DRAM Frequency 800MHz(double that means 1600MHz) and FSB DRAM 1:6 but when I click the SPD tab it says PC-3 10700...
The bios has them set to 1600, I made sure of that. There wasn't a need to manually set them to 1600 because the BIOS automatically recognized what speed the RAM was. The BIOS also recognized the correct timings as well. they're rated at 9-9-9-24 and that's exactly how they're set in the BIOS...
I have some good Kingston RAM that's supposed to be running @ 1600MHz; in the bios when I built my rig(a few months ago) the BIOS was able to detect it running correctly at 1600MHz but when I check CPUz it says the RAM is running at 667MHz @ double data rate which I know is 1333MHz.
I don't...
Hey all, I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6104nr laptop that I tried dual booting windows 7 home premium and Linux. I resized the existing windows partition in 2 and formatted the other partition ext3(I believe) but I could not install linux and now I cannot boot into windows anymore. I attempted to...
My mom has some software that has a USB Unikey dongle and the company is looking for the USB security device's serial number in order to upgrade but don't know where I find this information. any help would be appreciated. On the dongle itself it looks like there was something on the dongle that...
I disagree with most of the people on here that say turning your computer on and off hundreds of times has no effect on longevity on computers. I humbly disagree, of all the computers I have built over the last 15 years 90% of the computers that had parts fail were the ones I have built for...
You know I get tired of people bashing how "bad" the FX chips are all the intel fanboys and shit. Yes I have a 2500k and it's a good chip but listen, if that's not an option a 6100 would be FINE for gaming. My brother has a 4100, together with 8gb of 1866 ram and a AMD 5xxx series video card...
