I've been to that dealership and a lot of their cars come equipped with Lo-jack on the showroom floor. I bet your brother-in-law was trying to buy a car that the dealer didn't have in stock without Lo-jack.

How much harder is it to steal a luxury car compared to a regular car?

My Mazdaspeed3 has this key with the chip in it, but I don't consider my car luxury by any means. My insurance doesn't seem very cheap either.

Who said you can't power on the PS3 from an untethered controller? Works fine for me. The USB is only connected when the controller needs a charge.
