Motherboard diagnosis help

The problem started a week ago, computer froze while surfing. Would not boot back up, all fans and drives lite up, but no beep codes, no vga output. After turning the power off in the back, and trying again, the computer didn't boot but I did now get beep codes. Best I could tell is that it...

ABIT IP 35 pro versions

Serpent, What was the point? of 1.1. From everything I have heard, 1.0 is a great board, only bettered by the IP35-E ;)

Abit IP35-E Review (500MHz FSB board)...$90 @ NewEgg + $6.61 ship

As you know the $66 IP35-E will run all those new CPU's. It's just a matter if one thinks the additional $250+ dollars for DDRIII and X-38 MB are worth the additional performance. Probably more bang for the buck putting that money towards a 8800 Ultra

E4700, 45nm 2008 - Q1, $133

Then again, no brain overclocks put the current 4xxx over (well over is some cases) 3.xxx Ghz. My E4500 is everyday 3.2 Ghz, 32c Idle, 55c Orthos load and 3.5 Ghz benchmarking

Failed to mention the tighter 4 4 4 12 timings with the none value RAM. Tighter timings was the big ta do a few years back, not sure what the actual performance increase is.

Ooops! my E4500 did it again. OK, OK it takes two to Tango and my Abit IP35-E came along for the ride. I thought my overclock runs were over at 3.4 ghz, but with a few drops in Ambient temp (75F) I thought I'd go for 3.509. YES! 3.509 Ghz Idle / Load 32/72 11 x319 CPU 1.5275v...

UnIrit DDR2-800 at 3.2 ghz at 1:1 ratio is underclocked. The other components you have bought are pretty top notch, you can get buy with value RAM. Why not 2 x GB Ballistix 4 4 4 12 for about $55 after rebate at Buy.com. A bit more future proof.

Check over on the CPU / Overclocking forum for the E2XXX and E4XXX overclocking thread. Just fired up my Abit IP35-E + E4500 for the first time on Sat. Just hit 3.4 Ghz stable on Orthos last night. 330/340 FSB with this board is chump change. figure on 460 +

After a little research I found that the MX-1 paste that comes pre-applied on the Freezer 7 Pro is actually very good. One European web site that I found last night tested about 6 differents pastes, MX-1 and AS5 included. MX-1 bested AS5 by 1c , not really relevent other than why make a mess...

Serpent, do consider Core Temp Beta accurate? The reason I ask is that the Temps seemed to mirror the Abit EQ utility. I ran both programs simultaneously while running Orthos. Seemed a a bit odd as I though the Abit program wasn't all that accurate?

OK problem fixed, I had the DVD-ROM as first boot device for the OS load. Meantime I still had the Abit Driver disk in the DVD which caused the Abit boot manager to come up when starting the rig.
