Even if it took this long, it still feels good to know AMD, in one form or another, is making progress with OC. The 45nm with a much bigger L3 still cannot come too soon though.

Anyone else considering upgrading from q6600?

nope, not worth it. Considering the nightmare it is to get a heatsink tower off a LGA775 socket, 12mb Quads will have to hit $260 or lower for me to be bothered.

No hi-K (or MG) for AMD's 45nm

All I'm praying for is that 45nm will scale with clocks quickly and watts the way process shrinks are supposed to, just not failing like K8 65nm did with the former. Hi-k or not AMD getting back to atleast neck and neck with Intel with this architecture, seem about as far flung as them...

Not at all, a bit hypocritical until you realise that no one can pry Kurdish areas of Anatolia out Turkish hands. Kosovo on the other hand has not truly been in Serbian control for some 500 years.

Yeah that seems about right. The problem is companies like Lockheed Martin are such money sinks. The government just needs to reform how it awards bids to contractors because the method now can hardly be called a method. Contractors should pay for working demos out of their own pockets, as well...

This whole thing has made me glad for once the EU, USA and UN gave the general view of Kosovo among the outside masses the cold shoulder. Honestly I've never seem such a ill-informed moronic view completely detached from the actual situation be so widely believed.

Horrible Temps with Q6600 + Tuniq Tower

Those tuniqs are a nightmare to get on right. Those thumb screws (what a joke of a name :P) I needed a pair of pliers and about 30 minutes to get down tight, the backplate threads were soo tight that nomatter what I did, how many times I reseated it and took it apart, just would not turn...

Actually, comparing how much power an X1900XT eats while folding, yes it is. For points SMP destroys GPU folding atm.

yep, Well there still is a way around for what I want to do... And thats just getting a monitor with HDMI and a plethora of others, just switch inputs from when I want to watch TV or not. A decent S-IPS monitor that can do 1080p is just another $500 to save up for, and the extra money for yet...
