Athlon XP voltage nightmare - but is it safe?

I have the same problem. Set the jumpers manually to 1.75 but Sandra and the BIOS screen still displayed 1.81 as my voltage. Running an AXP 1800 on an Asus A7N266-C. My freezing/rebooting problems don't appear to be voltage related but it still bugs me.

XP freezes on my first home built

I have a similar problem. It has only frozen/rebooted once while using Kazaa, it happens most often in 3d games and appears to be completely random. I've tried swapping out ram, reinstalling any and all drivers, removing and reinstalling most programs, and disabling most un-needed hardware...

Anyone else waiting to upgrade for nForce2?

I'm waiting so I can retire my old nForce 1 system to my sister. A new nForce 2 board should only cost slightly more than the old nForce 1s and she doesn't need a new computer right away. That and the feature set is impressive. It's a must wait.

Overvolting on an Asus A7N 266-C

Isn't the default voltage of an Athlon XP 1800 supposed to be 1.75 volts? I've had some general instability problems with my system and it is pretty sporadic, but I think I found the issue. The jumpers on my mobo set to CPU default but when I run Sandra it reads 1.81 volts, the BIOS shows 1.8...

Is it just me, or is the nForce2 really darned good!

I say a PIII 500 + lots of memory, so you can run XP without too much sluggishness.

Yeah, the nForce 2 LOOKS sweet. It'll BE sweet when it finally shows up for sale at newegg. I'm disappointed in Nvidia for the paper launch but waiting isn't a problem for me, my current nForce 1 system is getting me by just fine. It's pretty ironic that the most tightly integrated...

Crashing in any 3D game.

I need advice on a motherboard with onboard sound and lan for AMD chips.

If you can wait another month you could get an nForce2 board. Onboard sound that is the equivalent of a SB Live, dual onboard lan, and USB 2.0 support. I'd guess it will come out at around $125.

Crucial PC133 on Abit BH6? Website problems?

CT32M64S4D7E 256 MB SDRAM, PC133 ? CL=2 ? Unbuffered ? Non-parity ? 7.5ns ? 3.3V ? 32Meg x 64 Couldn't find detailed specs for the BH6 on Abit's site but it should work.

PC Rebooting Under Some Load

I have a similar problem with an AXP 1800(1533 mhz) and an Antec 400W. I might try replacing the power supply soon. My processor runs about 50c under load, kinda hot but still in spec and I've pointed a house fan at the board for the time being. That lowered temps to 43c so it still happens...

Laptop question: Radeon 7500M 32MB vs. GeForce4Go 440 32MB

Read this if you haven't already. If there is no huge cost difference I say go with the GF4 Go. Higher clock and memory speeds. Got Apex laptop gaming shootout

Can I bring down the cost without sacrificing performance?
