    Problem with new System (What's that smell?!)

    same thing happened to me, smell and the smoke. I am in the process of RMAing my bg7, I hope the next one doesn't break. I don't know what happened either, everything was set right. when I put in a new mobo, all my components worked.

    okay, I have an update. I just went and bought a new mobo from fry's to test my system with. Asus p4b266. Everything worked out fine, I was able to format my hd, install windows, etc etc. but now that I am in windows, every few seconds it freezes for about 5-6 seconds, then it works again...

    My drives mounted fine, whats the problem with yours? Does it slide around or something?

    I was putting together my system today. Its an Intel 1.8a. Everything installed fine. I got into bios, I checked my temperature and it was slowly rising and then it reached 75 and my mobo started beeping. So I was worried and I shut down. I tried again later and the same result happened...
