unplugged everything and plugged it all in one by one and it all seemed to work fine when I did that. looks like I am the dumbest person on the planet after all, and just had something where it shouldn't be.

everything is brand new.... System won't boot or power on, don't even have a power LED on the MB. Switched out the PSU and still nothing. So the only possibility is the MB is bad or I am literally the dumbest person on the planet and forgot to plug something in?

My dell 700m is just about ancient technology, working on 7 years old and I'm looking to replace it. I haven't had any problems aside from the disk drive not working (which I don't use anyway).
Mainly I've been looking at the thinkpadx220 and dell xps15.
