Can I put an extra fan on my new Volcano II ... how ?

Jaybittle: In my humble opinion that depends on the existing fan's direction.. If the existing fan is blowing air onto the heatsink the extra fan should suck that air away including "fresh" cold air from the other side away. The best would be to suck it upwards in the cabinet, sucking...

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure it is actually 36 CFM. That fan's supposed to be a very sharp competitor to Delta's Black Label fan... It's less noisy! I'm almost certain I've read other ppl talk about this fan... Somewhere.

Hmmmm, afaik. an extra of same size and brand only gives approximately 10-15% extra airflow. You could try to put a smaller (i.e. thinner) 60 mm fan ontop and see how much that helps the aitflow of the existing fan. The air from the smaller fan should help the large one with less...

Noise Control SIlverado : opinions?

Hehe, a 'glob' was just a fun word I came up with... I removed the excess Arctic Silver 2 with a 20 cm Linex ruler cleaned with Ethanol ;) Also the pressure from the 3 screws holding the silver plate to the heatsink press out any extra thermal compound. There's just one thing I don't like so...

Noise Control SIlverado : opinions?

I use it, and I'm very satisfied with it.... :) Just remember to take off the silverplate, clean off the thermal compound and put on a gob of AS2 instead. That gave me approx 5-7 degrees...

ONE SERIOUS FAN here

I don't know about that particular fan, but I've got a Ø150*55 mm fan. 230 VAC, 40W engine to pull the darn thing...

Dewey: I know the Digital Doc 5 already, 2 of my friends have one.. It's very neat! 2 bad it's an on/off thermostat instead of a PI or PID regulator. :( Mine will arrive on friday, already looking forward.

Hmmm, I just ordered 2 pcs. of Delta Black Label fans to suck air onto my Silverado 50 HSF, I have _no_ fan guards on my case. :D I will be running the fans on my MacPower Digital Doc 5. 1 GHz Tbird @ 1,1 GHz 10,5*105 (VCM RAM @ 139 MHz)

Hmmm, AFAIK Digital Doc5 is also capable of controlling the fan speed, right? I think you're capable of controlling it by RPM or one of the 8 included thermal probes!?!?!

Number of fans in Addtronics 7896A FullTower?

I've just ordered: 6*80 mm GlobalWin (30 CFM, 36 dBa each, RPM-signal) 1*120 mm GlobalWin (108 CFM, 42 dBa, RPM signal) 1*92 mm Papst (35,9 CFM, 23 dBa) This is bought to build in to my Enermax 330 W PSU, so no RPM signal needed. I'm wondering whether I should buy a Digital Doc5 for all these...

72W Peltier & FOP32-1?

Hmmm... I've just borrowed a 72W peltier at work, does anyone know whether a FOP32-1 is powerfull enough for this and a 1 GHz TB? Another question: How the f... am I supposed to turn on a spare ATX supply? I figure I'm supposed to short the "ATX supply on" with one of the GND leads...

Peltier Install

how to install super orb

I just installed my spare TT Super Orb in my dad's new computer this friday, damn noisy thing, not very efficient. The ½-prized Aopen HSF with 60 mm Everflow cooler was approx. 5 °C cooler. (Also one of my spares) So I quickly switched them around again, and next week when his FOP32-1 arrives...
