I'm having abnormally high northbridge chipset temps according to SmartGuardian It's at 43C, my CPU is at 29-30C... Any fixes for this? At what temperature does the northbridge get compromised?

DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D and Venice 3000 help!

Do you guys think the OCZ Dual Channel GoldVX is better than the regular Dual Channel Gold series? The VX does 2-2-2-8 at 3.2 V while the regular gold does 2-2-2-5 at 2.8V... any help? judging from these number i would figure regular would be better.. I will be using the memory for...

Asus A8N-E HTF stuck at 5x?

I'm having trouble overclocking my 3000+ Venice.. it's a LBBLE 0522. Is it that the older weeks are better overclockers? I can barely get 1.9 (originally 1.8). I am pretty new at this and I have read like that "isolate and consolidate" article for overclocking athlons. I have a A8N-E mobo which...

wow thanks a lot. it's pretty amazing that a stupid little thing like that was messing everything up. i took your advice and freshly installed windows again and there seem to be no problems.. for about an hour. thanks man

ok, well with the suggestion of othe rpeople, i reinstalled windows WITHOUT the nVidia firewall and other software... so to all people experiencing similar problems on a clean install using a nforce4 motherboard... take heed.

help with new system.. lots of BSoDs

Windows installed okay, but about every 5 minutes, i get a BSoD and the computer restarts on its own. could it be the power supply? i have a thermaltake case and i'm using the provided 430W supply. I know it's probably not great, but the amps provided at the different voltages seemed okay...

yeah i did. thanks for the tip, i'll try to uninstall now. i haven't figuredit out yet but the computer seems more stable this morning than last night after resting a night.. but it wasn't overheating or anything.. i dunno.. ok scratch that, it jst got a BSoD and restarted on its own, but...

Thanks for your help again. Yeah I just used the CD that came with the motherboard to boot into freedos and I flashed it that way. I was able to install windows, but now windows is acting up... one BSoD so far. Trying to update with security updates but i've had to restart 3 times so far because...

yeah i've spent about 9 hours today trying to install windows to no avail. thanks for your help. i am flashing the new bios now and i will probably purchase a new HD tomorrow. sorry this was a bit off topic as well;

well at this point, i don't care about raid, i just want to be able to install windows. strangely.. i tried two other HDs with WinXP and the computer keeps restarting after the windows loading thing comes up... i have a venice core chip, and i haven't flashed the bios, could that be the reason?

yeah, it's not a problem with the floppy, but my drives.. i have two 80GB WDs that i tried in RAID0, and separately but i keep having the same problem. If in RAID0, the BSOD comes up early. If separately, then the BSOD comes up near the end of the installation. I dunno.. just getting pretty...
