Thanks for the reply, I'll update the SSD. I need wifi for this PC as the room it's going in does not have a wired connection. So I figured I'd get onboard wifi vs PCI unless the latter perform better?
Thank you for the case recommendation as well.
Hi, I'm looking to build a new computer after 10 years of running i7-920. It will be primarily used for home office with Dual monitor setup 1920X1080. I also would like to edit some home videos using sony vegas from time to time. I have no intention of gaming on this so did not use a graphics...
I have a desktop computer built in 2011 that uses to be hard wired and have internet in my old home.
However the new house does not have ethernet connections in the room I'm placing the computer.
Do you guys recommend I purchase a wifi extender with Ethernet port or purchase a wifi adapter for...
Not really planning on overclocking that cpu by too much. It's a pc the entire family uses. Don't really want to start tweaking settings at this point of the cpu stage. Planning on doing a new build later on this year for a gaming rig.
I have Corsair HX650 atm for my 4850.

Nevermind guys. I apologize for this thread. Please delete if possible.
I updated my version of coretemp to the latest one and now see correct temps. The idle is at 31 degrees.
Thank You.
I disabled smart fan in motherboard bios and still the same thing. This is weird because temps should generally be lower when idle, not higher.
Need your guys' advice to what action to take here.
Thank You.
Hi guys, I recently did a build i5-4430 and I am experiencing a problem. The temps under idle are higher than load. I am using the stock Intel cooler.
I have attached photos to better show what I am trying say.
Does anyone know what the cause is and how I could fix it?
Congrats bud. But please look into this before you open your PSU. I am also in a similar position and was surprised to find out that Haswell requires special PSUs.
mfenn, appreciate all the help. However, I went to order today locally at NCIX. The manager rightly advised me not to get Corsair CX500M because it is not yet validated to work with Haswell. I looked up on the internet after I came home and found this link from corsair showing the same thing. So...
Hey mfenn, great to have your insight. Would it be possible to just choose audio to one device at a time? For example, choose the TV as the playback device? I do not need simultaneous audio...just need simultaneous video.
Thanks for replying Lehtv. Just a couple of corrections from my end. The PC will not just only be connecting to the TV. Instead it will be running in dual monitor mode with the TV acting as the 2nd monitor. I would like do that because if person A is just watching a movie then person B should...
I am planning on building a computer for my brother. He was actually thinking of getting a Samsung all in one. But I think we're going to go for the build route instead due to easily be able to repair and maintain the PC ourselves. Plus I think there is more bang for the buck in building on your...
