In search of Sandy Bridge i7 laptop with ExpressCard slot

I can't speak for the T520 but my T420 defiantly has a SB i5 with express card slot. My next upgrade is upgrade to a quad i7 when I can find one cheap enough that's not a ES. Only reason I mentioned the T520 is because it has the HD3000 and the option for no other dGPU so resources can be free...

I did something similar. I went with a T420 with a GTX480 eGPU. So sexy I must say. Few things to note... W520 comes with the Quadro card. Which might give you headaches with your eGPU. Why note just get the T520 with HD3000? Coupled with a Nvidia eGPU with optimus would be more than enough I...

Thank you to everyone for your input. To answer everyone’s question... I pretty much have all of these parts because I bought them all last week as a "lot" from my friend who works at Nvidia. The 8800GT was my previous video card. I went straight to the GTX 480. Guess the best thing for me...

GTX 480 LED Logo...

Here is a quick screenshot as requested. I let it run for about 3 minutes so that you can see the temps level out. I took out some information I felt might identify where I got the card from. Temps are a little warmer then yesterday but it was about 90 degrees today...

GTX 480 LED Logo...

480 Shader Card. 72c load temps produced by Furmark. Fan set to ramp up to 90% @ 80c via afterburner. So at 72c... fans at 68%. Stock voltage (cause i haven't changed it) although i don't know the vid... afterburner states it changes from idle to load.

Here are the pics as promised. I thought that I might as well replace the TIM to some Shin-Etsu MicroSI while I was at it. How the heatsink shroud looks. Opened up... Heatpipes from above... Plug for the led logo... How the led looks on the backside...

Please help me rebuild my system couple of options.

Thanks for the feedback. I started thinking along the same lines that the 480 and x25 are the only things that I would like to keep if/when I upgrade. Good point on the 120Hz 3d. I will have to look more into that. Probably have to sli 480s to get where I want to be. I would be willing to game...

I do have a pre-retail card. My card dosn't have visible heat pipes. But, when I took off the heatsink shroud there are heatpipes underneath it. It also dosn't have the upper heatsink plate. The shroud looks similar to my GTX285 & 260 with the exception that there is a small green window in...
