you checked out those new sis645dx boards? oh yea, the ram at googlegear isn't true samsung ram, its samsung chips on a cheap pcb (i bought one), so it doesn't overclock that high.

Just fired up new computer --- Three questions -- For now!!

go to control panel, then click on system, it should tell you how much ram you have. or use the 'run' on the start button, type dxdiag, and under memory, it should tell you how much ram you have. or if you have another rig that accepts the ram, you can try to put the stick in that to check.

sweet, thanks peters. one thing, the current bios installed is the current one from amptron, 12/05/01 (date), and already list support for xp processors. the pc-chips website doesn't mention what date their current bios is. was wondering if those two are the same, or if pc-chips has a better...

ok, i voted. since i gave my old t-bird rig to my bro, i don't actually have one of my own yet. (still need mobo/ram/cpu). can't wait for the hammers, was trying to wait for dual channel ddr, but even that maybe too long. so, i have till early may before semester ends, and then no more...

man, i'm a noob, i'm mainly a 98 guy, and didn't know that win2000 and winXP had internet file sharing. anyway i bought the router already, and from what i read below, i router is definitely the way to anyway. Correct? just trying to validate a $90 purchase (hopefully my rebates will be here...

convince him to spend $100 dollars more for a kick-ass sytem. edit: dude, those prices you quoted are kinda high. Newegg is selling an athlon tbird 1.33 ghz for $78 i'll go with that shuttle mobo if it's only $60, or a ecs mobo for $60. (/reedit) crucial ram good...
