Rattling northbridge fan on a Soyo Dragon- solved!

I figured out why the fan was making a lot of noise. The fan itself is just screwed onto the heatsink. No holes for the screw to hold on to so the fan had a tendency to move a bit When it would spin at full speed, it would vibrate a little (but no noise). The little fan however vibrated enough...

Rattling northbridge fan on a Soyo Dragon- solved!

Cool cool. Im getting ideas. Has anyone tried to use one of those little coolers (HSF combo) from thermaltake (or something similar)? I think they're suppose to be vga chip cooler but will they also work for the northbridge?

Thanks for the input guys. I'll try adding a little oil on the fan and see how that goes. Is it possible to upgrade the fan instead? Does anyone know if the fan is a standard size so I can go to a store and get a replacement. I really hate doing board mods.

is the actually fan rattling? like vibrating? or is it just making an irritating whirring noise? I opened up the case and felt the fan, there seem to be some play on two corners. The other two corners have screws so they didnt have any play. When the fan is running, it does not appear to be...

ECS K7S5A DOA??

I had this board and I had problems with it too. In my case, it would not post and I would hear no beeps. What I ended up doing was removing ALL the cards, RAM, wiring (speakers, power button, reset, etc.) and the power line. All that was left on the board was the cpu and hsf. Reset the bios...

Soyo P4S Ultra Tweak Recommendations

Does Anyone else have this setup? Yes I have this setup and I'm using the OEM HSF. My CPU temp goes anywhere from 48-51C and the case temp stays around 34C. It's hard to find info and reviews on this board. Anyone found a review or faqs yet for this board? Its either too new or just crap. I'm...

Antec PS (pp303xp) wiring and capacity question...

I have an Antec case that came with the pp303xp PS. Two questions. A) There is a wire coming out of the PS which has a connector on the end similar to a connector found on the wiring of a case fan. A brownish three pin female connector. What is it and what is is used for? B) The power supply...

Personally I would get the X5. You will pay more but there are some upside. They aren't very common so you won't see them that often. BMW is BMW- they aren't rebadge so they can charge you more. When someone says Lexus, doesn't Toyota pop into your mind? BMW is known for superior handling...
