This is based on the assumption that all time periods stated (generations, years, etc) are taken at face value?
If we allow for interpretation between Hebrew, Greek and English variances (as well as pockets of lost content), is it still viable as a historical document?

If you can spare the time and effort, the FS/FT thread may have something up your alley. I think a 7770 should be able to handle most modern games at that resolution (and maybe even a small bump up) and can probably be snagged for $50-$60.
What games do you plan on playing and at what resolution? AMD CPUs can't match i5s, but depending on what you want to play, may be perfectly suitable (and cheaper)
I went through a similar dilemma. My 2GB 7850 ended up costing $25 more (after factoring in taxes)
But, general consensus is yes, significantly better.

I'd also suggest contacting AMD, your board producer and maybe the retailer that sold it to you, to make sure they sold you a correct 'regional' SKU.

I owned a Sapphire 4830, and then freaked out when I heard horror stories about non-existent Warranty Service for Canadians.
the MSI Twin Frozr design looked really nice - if I didn't craigslist my XFX 7850 (yay warranty support), I'd probably have looked at that one.
