    You can always send it to Tamron and they'll optimize the AF for whatever body you own... it's free, and you only pay shipping one-way. I've done that for two lenses and they've turned out perfectly.

    IMO: There is more support in the online community for Canon stuff. And overall, I think the sentiment is that Canon is more innovative and more of a technological leader than Nikon. Nikon's hallmark is the quality of their glass, but Canon has some incredibly high-quality lenses as well...

    The aperture specified is always the maximum (widest) aperture. So this lens can do 2.8, 4, 5.6, etc...
