Voltage problem

I would say so. Those voltages are a tad low. When my p/s recently died it was dropping voltages like that.

Hub? Router? Help!

Maybe... A hub or switch will let you split that jack in the wall, that's for sure. Now you just have to register your laptop and see if it works. They may not let you have more than one connection. If that's the case you could set your PC up as a proxy or nat server, then use it for...

networking & sharing internet without a router

You'll have to use internet connection sharing, its the only free internet sharing software available with windows 98 and above.

Win2k ip filtering problem

I just recently started messing with ip packet filtering in win2k, and it works fine, except, I can't seem to get DNS to work. I have to allow all UDP packets through for DNS to work properly on the box. I have tried port 53 for tcp and udp and nothing. I currently have port 53/tcp allowed...

Built a computer -- powers on, but no video?

Try pulling the video card out and see if the motherboards gives a beep code. Try pulling the ram out and see if it posts. Try a new p/s. Do this one at a time, so you don't pollute your variables. Best way to troubleshoot this situation is leave everything unplugged from the power...

comp rebooting itself

Sounds to me like a problem with those games you listed, try patching them. If the pc runs fine for hours in those other games, then it doesn't sound like hardware. I've heard of problems with amd64 and certain games like ut2k4, where you need a patch to fix.

Problems getting Internet Connection Sharing to work at the office.

Try connecting to a website via an IP and see if it works. If it does, you have dns problems, try switching to a diff dns server.

How to determine bottleneck

If all your workstation ips are 208.x.x.x then I'd make sure you got firewalls on all those machines, it looks like they are all direct on the internet. Your a good target for zombies! :) Turn on NAT!

Frequent disconnects

Your laptop nic is having trouble renewing it's IP from the router. Try setting a static IP address for your NIC to see if you can maintain connectivity for a period of time. If you can then you may want to disable dhcp in your router, upgrade it's firmware, or try new drivers for your laptop...

Some NAT question

Regardless, your WAN interface will have a public IP. Your internal machines will have local non-routable ip which in turn will get translated to the public IP when you use an application on the internet. Traffic will appear to come from your 'original' ip, without you having to do anything...
