i've had a clear case...acrylic...for the last 18 months. it's been used at home without any static problems. this past weekend i took it to my office to use (the staff loves it !) but i'm finding that it is building up a lot of static electricity. i can touch the psu every 20 minutes or so...
congrats....it is a piece of art...just like the previous alpha's. i put mine on yesterday, on an msi 845 ultra mobo, with a nidec 80mm fan....27cmf, 21 dba, p4 1.7, and now all i can hear is the pos w.d. hard drive. idle@21, load @34. make it SUCK.
just put together a p4 1.7, stock hsf...lapped tho...in an enermax mid tower...350 watts, 2 80mm panaflo's at 7 volts in the back, an msi 845 ultra ddr mobo, and i'm getting idle temps of 12 celcius and load temps of 32. using both the bios and mbm to check. can these be accurate ? also. i...
i'm in the process of selling a dell inspiron 7000 laptop, and need some help in clearing the hard drive. running win 2000 pro. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks in advance. (don't want to reload 2000)
thanks for the linky and the info about sparkle. just happen to have a sparkle gathering dust. i've found that switching out the stock fan with an enermax thermo fan produces a psu that is virtually silent.....my project for the evening.............
i've had one for over a year now....currently running a p4, scsi setup. looks nice with the blue neon, but i've noticed that it will screw with my garage door opener, depending upon where i have it located in the house....weird, huh ? no other problems noticed tho.....( except for my dead cat...
room/case temps ? don't we all live at 73 degres, or so. room temps don't mean s**t. you need to make the exhaust fans (in the back), much more powerfull. my server runs with no fans in the front, and 2 big ass fans in the back...sweet stuff ...
here is the answer to your problem...no o/c....then no fans in front, big fans in the back to exhaust...creating great airflow... front to back, and enermax fans in the entire system, including the p.s.. you can't go (fanless) , but switching out the fan in your p.s. will make you wonder...
get rid of the thermal pad......artic silver will bring you down 5c or more. you also might try lapping your h.s. 600 grit sandpaper on a flat surface for a few minutes will make a big difference.
