let me explain..
1. I started noticing that my desktop was randomly shutting down

Appreciate the help guys but I messed up in my original diagnoses :( one of the drives is dead and I guess I failed to single out that one drive. The htpc has a 500 W OCZ PSU. I threw the drives in my desktop/server which has a 650w Corsair PSU and I got the same problem.

Didn't even think of that... So is the PSU being overloaded or defected/damaged? I ask becuase I plan on removing those HDD's and into my server. Do I Still need to replace power supply
So I'm running a HTPC and I've been running this system for a few years now with no recent changes in hardware... After being in sleep mode I restarted the PC as I noticed there was stutter in one of the films I was trying to play..
So... I restart the PC and I here this ticking sound...
So this will not work because its G-Only or will it just slow my wireless connection? I don't mind if it slows my connection. Say if I figured out a way to wire this is it doable then using these two routers and set it up as an access point?
Don't want to start a new thread and my situation is same similar to the OP.

Denis280, took your advice and it's possible that one of my two cd-roms is causing an error upon waking.
"The device, \Device\CdRom1, is not ready for access yet."
It gave that error right at the very moment i had woken...
it just started happening. I've also made the following observations;
1. one of by DVD drives stops functioning once awaken from sleep mode. It doesn't show in device manager, in my computers and it won't eject manually.
2. My sound stops working however everything seems fine in device...

that was a seperate problem all together. Apparently front panel USB ports don't carry as much voltage as the rear ones which is why my pocket drive wouldn't power up all the way. It seems to be a common problem but most people don't notice it as it's not often they connect a USB device that...
problem solved! updating my bios actually solved the problem. my last bios update may have thrown somehting off with the onboard video

So I went out and borrowed a DVM but I have no idea what to do with it. I have never used one and need some simple instructions as to what I need to do from here.
