Hi Kevin, I recommend you doubly sure that this heat sink/fan is designed for the Socket A - 462 pin processor. It should say so on the box. You are right - you can't afford to make cooling mistakes with Athlon/Duron processors - they cook extremely quickly. You may even want to get a cooler...

I would not go for a Dell or IBM etc. IMHO you really pay extra for support that you don't need. Look for a good "recommend" neighbourhood shop that can assemble a custom system for you (with a decent warranty - 1-2yrs). Now on to the parts. If I were buying in June here is how I...

The Asus A7V133 Thread

It seem's like everyone in this posting - including myself - is a happy camper with the A7V133. I don't generally make final statements but for this board I will make an exception. This in most definitely the best, most stable board I have had the pleasure to own.

Somehow I don't think it's the pencil job. If it were bad it would work. But try and let me know how it works.

I agree with you here. I can't get more that 950 reliably myself. Temp ranges between 50 and 54 degrees C. A7V133 motherboard 850 MHz cpu - blue core 256 Muskin HSDRAM 150MHz

Best AMD kt133a overclockers board?

Switched from ABIT (2-3 reboots a day) to ASUS A7V133 - no reboots - no regrets.

Just got a ASUS A7V133 Made in China!!!

You are correct, because of politics, Taiwan is forced to call itself China. On the real topic though, just got my A7V133 a few days ago with 850MHz CPU. The highest clock I could get with CPU alone is 950MHz. Any out there with a similar config.

Any experience with A7V133 and Promise RAID controller?

Are there brokerage fees with UPS Ground shipping? -- Canada

Yup, in Canada you just have to assume the position. :disgust: I have found it makes little difference to get stuff from the US if it's available locally. In addition if you run into problems at least it's less expensive to harass the supplier. :cool:
