Copy data from SATA drive

We have a computer, worker quit, we don't have password to the machine, there is data on the machine we need. The HDD are SATA, I tried to daisy chain the two drives to access the data, and no luck...doesn't even see the drive. Is there a way to get at the data? Perhaps create a boot disk and...

good 12 port router? difference between router and vpn router?

Any idea what'd be a good router with at least 12 ports? I'd rather have one box than to daisy chain a bunch of 4 port routers. Which brand is most reliable. I realize I could go super expensive or cheap..I want quality w/ value. doesn't need to be a super box able to do all. Also, what...

over at FW, I read people weren't able to get the discounted deal via SBC by going thru Dell...it's definitely a YMMV on that one. If you want to lock in your $26.95, cut-out the middle man and use the code above, worked like a charm for me, plus I got wireless connection pkg like dealonfire...
