Recently I purchased some scrap solar cells. I'm attempting to connect the scrap cells together. Soldering works, it makes a low resistance connection, but it seems the solar cells and the solder expand at different rates when heated/cooled, and the solder literally falls off, flux helps, but...

Beating the lottery

Ok, so it's obvious that you can't beat the odds for the jackpot, but whatabout the smaller winnings? Would the smaller winnings out-weigh the minimum number of tickets required? Probably not, anybody interested in crunching the numbers for the smaller winnings?

I do have some older >1GB Hard Drives. I'll have to remove a platter, swipe it a couple of times (without touching it), and put it back in. I wonder how durable hard drives really are... As for the 120, maybe i did just damage some circuitry. But I do know for a fact, that before it worked, and...

Stacking magnets

I did swipe the drive a few times with about 50-60 of them stacked together (on purpose, not by accident). I have no way of testing the drive, but they certainly broke it, I know that much. I originally thought that the drive was bad to begin with, but only after I made it worse did I find out...

I have about 80+ Hard Drive Magnets stuck to my wall right now, these magnets are pulling the screws out from under the paint! anyways, after about 20 stacked on top of each other, they didn't really get noticeably stronger (I just ended up having more :)). After they started loosing streignth...

64-Bit

wouldn't you be able to preform an operation on a full 64 bit number in one clock cycle? So couldn't you just slap 2 32 bit numbers side by side, and do an operation on both at the same time (where applicable). Wouldn't that give you a 2x performance gain (once again, where applicable)?

There is one problem with that idea: What would have started that whole chain of events? Something must have started it, whether it is nothing (literally), or something. If it was something, then what started that something? You can trace it all the way back to the beginning. Nothing started...
