Recurring Office 2007 updates?

Yep, had it on the work PC this morning. They appear to have installed so when the update pane showed up again i just used 'Hide Update' on all of them to get rid of the notification.

The best cd/dvd burning software is...

Could have written that myself for how it reflects my own opinion. It's a very rare occasion that i need to deal with physical media now, but when i do it's cdburnerxp that i use. I still install it just in case i need to burn anything and it's never let me down.

Chrome is the best browser now

How do you disable the new Touch Optimized interface? It's awful! That is what i see on my PC this morning. It's not only the main Menu that is affected but also Bookmarks within folders and Right-Click context menus too. There is an option in chrome://flags but it doesn't seem to do...

1) You don't need codec packs. Ever! if you have any uninstall them now. 2) LAV filters, among others, are 3rd party filters that (supposedly) do a better job than the ones built in to the player, i.e MPC-HC. Most people won't be able to tell the difference and will be quite happy just running...

Four 500 gig Velociraptors in raid 0!

I wouldn't trade one SSD for all the RAID 0 Velociraptors in the world. It doesn't matter how many you put in your array, Access times, IOPs and Random Read/Writes are always going to suck in comparison. Then there's the noise..

Dell U2711 vs U2713H

If money were no object, the new panel is potentially better. I say potentially because it's just been released and early revisions are often flawed. Until people start buying and reviewing the panel, it's a gamble to get one yourself. The U2711 only has one flaw and that's the aggressive AG...
