Replaced mobo & cpu - Win XP not booting...

really? I never knew that. I thought XP automatically recognizes the mobo & cpu.. Do I have to reformat or is re-installing xp enough?

Replaced mobo & cpu - Win XP not booting...

Hey. I just installed a new mobo & cpu in my pc, and win xp isn't booting. The pc boots and shows me the msi corechip or something screen, then it goes to the screen that says win xp wasn't shut down properly. Whatever I do (normal, safe mode..) the screen goes black and nothing happens. I went...

Delayed Booting

I tried 3 power supplies, all the same. Specs - Athlon 1.4 TB EPOX 8K7A 2x256 mb 2100 Micron Ram 80gb WD Caviar HDD Asus GF3 Hercules GTXP Antec PSU - don't remember which one, but it's a good one.

When I start my pc I hear the fans turning, the cd light is blinking but the pc doesn't start right away. for a couple of seconds you can hear the fans stopping and restarting, as if the pc is reseting a couple of times. Then after a few seconds, maybe 10, the screen turns on and the pc boots...

Repeating Booting Problem - Help!

I don't understand - is there a known problem between my mobo (epox 8k7a) and Enermax psu's?? I read about the 5 volt mod thing, I don't understand nothing about that and I don't wanna touch the psu cause I like living.. Should I replace on of the two or is there anything that I can do?

i'll try the updates. the cpu is not hot, there's no oc, and the ps is good quality - enermax. I'll check the code thing, didn't notice that before.

I tried with only one ram stick, didn't help. And the HDD is new and is working fine so I don't think that's the problem. You think it's either the mobo or the ram? I'll try to play with the ram again today..
