I just built a new system and went with the Q6600 on sale at microcenter for 199, $214 with tax. See my sig for system. I tried to go 3.6 ghz but at max utilization I was close to 70c say 68c Tcase 70c Tjunction , so I backed down to 3.2ghz, running good I am getting idle 38 to 40 c and...

Last few posts are getting off the topic I brought up, AGP cards as a whole are affected as well as some PCI-E cards, so this is not a question of old hardware being affected only, its AGP across the board and some PCI-E setups.

was that question really needed? Seriously? , bug fixes? the fact that newer game titles require updates only the 7.9 to 7.12 range can provide, and with the current state of the drivers, you must decide play new games, or old games with 7.12 I can't play new or old. Good game engines and games...

Like Most this buyout looks to end in disaster. Since AMD bought ATI last year there stock has dropped over 50% they have had to lay off over 450 employees at both AMD locations in the USA and ATI locations in Canada. AMD recently admitted to over paying for ATI and have already lost over 1...

I forgot to mention that. 3850 and 3870 card owners are really in a bad spot for certain game titles and problems, because they have to use the newer driver releases and that?s affecting PCI-E. So I?m not sure if when AMD bought ATI they just laid off all the good software people at ATI, but it...

Catalyst 7.12 are out!!!

7.12's are still broken for ATI/AMD AGP card users. Same Problem, DXdiag test shows DX7, 8, 9 fail. New game titles like Bio Shock and Quake Wars work fine. All older titles fail. Reverting back to 7.8 fixes my problem. ATI still refuses to put this problem in the release notes. So for now...

I'm not sure if that error has been fixed, however what I do know is, if you own an ATI/AMD card that?s AGP of several card series, running on any motherboard / chipset, your going to possibly run into major problems running any driver release after 7.7 - 7.8, whatever they added in 7.9 to...

Well there ya go, so XP users running latest DX9 and have an AGP card will have to wait for ATI to come out and say bug issue or dropped support issue, or may just shhhh forever. Question though Stumps, can you play older games fine ? do you have any of the games in my original post.

Yea I am also running XP pro with latest dx9, I wonder if anyone has the agp problems under vista with dx10. O well, new system by early next year :)
