E8400 Orthos testing

Dude...I have the same exact set up as yours. Mine is running at 4.00 Ghz stable and I did orthos all night long and woke up to find the load temp around 63C with the case open. So..take it easy and enjoy your kickass E8400

Single core AMD 3700+ upgrade path?

Does it make sense to buy a factory OC'ed GPU? Such as EVGA KO and SSC editions!? I reckon that it wouldn't be that hard to OC it by myself. I've done it with my X1900XT (but at that time there were no factory OC'ed options for it)

Guys, thanks a lot. Especially to CurseTheSky for providing that golden link to all-in-one cpu/gpu comparison! I think, its time to upgrade!!! I just missed the 199$ E8400 deal...*waits for it to come back in stock.* Also, 8800GT is quite a hefty upgrade too. Thanks again!

Thank you so much guys. I've got a couple more questions, if you don't mind. 1) Is it worth buying 9600GT or 8800GT or even 8800GTS over my current card (x1900xt)? If so, how much improvement should I expect in new games (FEAR, Oblivion, NFS Prostreet, COD4, TF2, COH, and upcoming ones...)...

Extremely thin mouse pads = what's best

Get the black laser mouse pad from Walmart. As mentioned above, this one: http://www.handstands.com/reta...big_laser-mousepad.jpg Its cheaper than CompUSA if you buy it from Walmart. I got mine for 5$. As far as the mouse pad is concerned, its great. Works as advertised :D.

Thanks for your reply. Any good places to find a 50$ deal on X2 939? Used is fine... Moreover, I tried to OC the 3700 from 2.2Ghz stock. I can only get it up to 2.56Ghz stable with 233 FSB and 11x Multi. I am a total n00b at overclocking and I read the guide here on Anandtech on how to...

AMD 3700+ 939 Upgrade Strategy

Hi mates, My system is as follows: AMD 3700+ EPoX 9NPA-Ultra (Socket 939) DDR 400 2x1GB X1900XT 512 All running stock. I was wondering if I should upgrade this January when the new E8xxx series dual cores and Q9xx quads are released. Or should I wait for the new Nahalem architecture...

Which 24" LCD should I get?

Get the new Dell E248WFP. I got mine a month ago and very happy with it. Great design and great price. (I got a discount from my company).

Don't laugh, I'm finally going to upgrade from my x850

Hey... If you're keen to getting a used one, I can sell you my x1900xt for 100$. Its 512 MB and overclocks good. I have played plenty of C&C3 and runs impeccably at 1920x1200. I am probably going to upgrade to GTX if I can sell my x1900xt. Let me know, I can post it on ebay for a short...

Benchmarks for comparing Intel Core2duo e6600 and AMD cpu's

Andy, I was thinking about the same. I have a 3700+ 939 DDR 400 setup with a X1900XT 512 card... Its not that it sucks but I just got a sudden urge to upgrade...939 socket is obsolete... Let us know how much of an improve you see when your sysyem is up and running.
