What's your gasoline costing?

2,25 € / liter in Germany, I think that works out to about 9$ a gallon. People in the US have a long way to go before they should start complaining about gas prices :).

[In EU] Looking for a light Ryzen laptop (but with juice)

I bought a Huawei Matebook 14 with a Ryzen 4600H, 16 GB/ 512 GB and a 3:2 IPS display last fall for 900€. It's been solid so far, I bought it primarily for light, mobile gaming (Civ 4, Sins of a solar empire) and occaisional 3D modelling. In normal use (web, Youtube, etc) it gets about 10 hours...

Is there not a single good ~9-10" tablet?

Another vote for the first gen galaxy tab s. I have the 8.4 but I can't imagine the 10 inch is any different. Good battery life, excellent screen. I can't really speak to the performance because all I do is surf on it. For surfing, the performance is good.

Laptop won't post after failed bios update - replacing the bios chips

Update: Januray 2016 The problem was an incorrectly programmed ME (Intel Management Engine) region of one of the bios chips. With help from another forum (see thread below) I was able to get the laptop running normally again...

The seller from Taiwan seems to think the bios is password protected and wants to sell me another set of chips to remove the password. I'm pretty sure that's not the problem though. I have no password set in my bios and can change all the settings at will. When I bought the chips, I told them...

Lenovo's response was that the mobo needs to be replaced. Thanks for the suggestion burpo. I'm in germany so that doesn't help unfortunately. I'll definitely check out ebay.de though.

I flashed the bios again but to an earlier version this time. During the flash, the bios was flashed (256 blocks) and then the embedded controller (32 blocks). The last time I tried a bios flash, only the bios was updated. Anyway, it didn't solve the problem, the laptop still shuts off after 30...
