Very sad...:( I actually looked at newegg's reviews before and it seemed that all 500GB SATA drives with more then a couple reviews got 4 point avarages. Reading further now, there is some difference, but I'm pretty sure I can't get any different drive now.

Testing a new Seagate 7200.11 ST3500320AS

I bought a ST3500320AS drive for my parents, so that they have more space. I formatted and then checked it with Norton Disk Doctor - all was fine, I took it to them, installed, cloned to it and in less then a day it died. Now, it's a pretty long drive going back to restore + some of their data...

Makes sense - they imagined it hooked up to some standalone blueray/hddvd through DVI in order to utilize the HDCP @ full resolution, but could imagine no one using the VGA for video. And they do mark the DVI cable as something ...optional for PCs.

Yeah, that's what I meant - they don't use them together, but rather switch suppliers based on availability and price.

The 2007WFPs should all be S-IPS. The 2007FPs are either S-IPS or S-PVA. Dell uses both to get a better price, and I don't think that they'll tell you which one you're going to get.

Faroudja is the company that make the chip that does the AAC & the ACM, I guess. Good intentions, but forgot that pc displays are also sometimes used for things other than video...
