    HELP: card compatibility and choices

Giving this a bit more reading, I may be leaning a bit toward Windforce one (simply because it's $10 cheaper, but that's really not a factor), and as I understand the two cards (Gaming and Windforce) are nearly identical and most see them as the same card. Am I wrong? In any case, thank you...

    HELP: card compatibility and choices

That was, indeed, my second choice, but I was put off a little by a trend of those coli-whine complaints that seemed pretty consistent to me. Especially since there are 2 revisions (we have rev. 1 I think) very little time apart (usually not a great sign for reliability). Any particular reason...

    HELP: card compatibility and choices

I have a case similar to yours -- FD R4, so there should be plenty of space, as far as I can tell. Perhaps another question, if you'd be so kind... These are the ones I have the option to actually get, and they are priced very close to one another: MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 ARMOR 6G OCV1...

    HELP: card compatibility and choices

Thank you for your response. I'd say 1070 and 1080 are definitely more than what I had in mind... I was thinking MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 ARMOR 6G OCV1 6GB GDDR5 I like what I read, but two things bother me a bit: 1. People whine (hehe) about coil whine / fan noise Should I treat this a...

    HELP: card compatibility and choices

Hello, guys. I hope this isn't against the rules (as I didn't see anything on that), but I need help. My video card (and PSU) died the other day, and while the PSU (Seasonic 750W) was at the very end of its 5-year warranty period (Seasonic is awesome) and was replaced, the card was not. This...

Powerline Adapter issues with new on-board NIC

Yeah, it seems that you are correct. WiFi works flawlessly so far. Perhaps the new NIC is more sensitive to wire disturbance, or perhaps the sheer wattage that was added to the adjacent grid prevented it from working.

Powerline Adapter issues with new on-board NIC

Hi all. I've asked for ways to determine the issue I've had with my new Gigabyte UD3H motherboard's Intel NIC in the general help forum and I've got a suggestion that worked to some extent. Here it is, for reference. Here I want to ask a bit more technical, network gear specific question...

Network connection issue with Gigabyte Z87x UD3H Intel NIC

I just might go with Wireless, but I still would like to know what's the difference? Isn't Access Point basically a wireless + extender for other devices?

Network connection issue with Gigabyte Z87x UD3H Intel NIC

That was my next attempt as well, thank you guys. The comp is quite heavy and a router is kind of inaccessible easily, so I wanted to avoid this. So this morning I moved the comp and connected directly to the router. Works. So, to close this off, if someone could answer the following...

Network connection issue with Gigabyte Z87x UD3H Intel NIC

Hi guys. Would really love some help here. I just got a brand new computer - 4670K + Gigabyte Z87x mobo. BIOS is F7. Ran a Windows 7 64b install - all smooth, no issues or hiccups. After booting windows - the network is dead. Setup: 1. Tp-Link Router - working properly, all other devices...

    Help with RAM (limited) selection.

Thank you. Would I be able to OC the RAM if the desire arises? I've read that it's a crapshot.

    Help with RAM (limited) selection.

I'd love the last vengeance you've put... but alas, the store doesn't have it. They only have the 4GB version and I am reluctant to go 4x4. May be I should do 2x4GB and upgrade later? Would 1333 or 1600 make any real difference (I've read up on it quite a bit, but most seems to relate to...

    Help with RAM (limited) selection.

    From price perspective? So at around $160 - $170 it would be better than 2 x 8GB G.Skill at $125 - $135 or so?

    Help with RAM (limited) selection.

Hi. So, my computer purchase got delayed :colbert:, but I've got a chance to get RAM at a discount at some small (but reputable) local store, due to some other, unrelated purchase. Problem is - there is a limited availability of brands and types. I am torn what to get. Please help. Prices...
