These chips are hot. Running my I7 on noctua's cooler at 3.8ghz i hit 85c, so i backed it down to 3.6ghz which is still a toasty 73c.
One thing that helped with overclocking and just made things a ton easier was loading the X.M.P memory profile. Fixed all my instability issues.

I don't know what's good! All the hardocp reviews say "HARD OCP FAIL!" at the end... and most of the review sites you would have to have an idea what you're buying to gain anything out of the review unless there is a recommendation section.

The funny thing is the only way to get it to turn back on is to actually turn the monitor off for like a couple minutes after i've loaded somethinng, then just turn it back on. And yes there is a auto calibration.
My psu is a ocz modstream 520watt.
So i've had this system for some time and just out of the blue it started having this strange problem.
When i load windows it will turn the monitor off after the windows logo, go black, and blink off and on on the power button. It turns back on after windows fully loads and goes to the desk...
It's not about seeing the fps, it's about feeling them. After you spend 7 years of your life playing video games you can feel the slightest frame drop even if it's over 60 in your mouse.
that kind of sucks, i spend 9 hours a day playing too, so i'd probably notice only having 60 fps. Ohwel it might still be worth it for lans, not having to pick up a crt is probablya nice thing.

Ok, i've read the how to on picking an lcd provided by anandtech and i still have a few questions. With CRT's i know the refresh rate is truely limiting to the fps, lets say if you have 80khz refresh rate on CRT that means you are only really seeing 80fps. Every lcd i've seen doesn't have 100khz...
