what's the best 60 gb 7200 rpm?

Why not check out storagereview.com and get the full picture.. The leaderboard there tells you the fastest drives in each category. Nearly always ibm at top, occaisionally replace by maxtor. Used to swear by quantum fireballs. But since they're not really an option anymore have had 1 maxtor...

I reckon that means that the floppy drive is electronically connected but not responding in the way the computer is expecting. I would check that the cable is the right way around. Second guess is that you've got the drive running in the wrong mode (this can be set in the bios)..** i am...

Spray or wipe the innards?...

System Won't POST

Nope would'nt have though a battery would cause that. If the battery goes you might lose some settings and/or the time.. would still boot though.. You'd be ok to try booting with just the power cables on your hard drive though dont really understand why you'd wasnt to do that.... I suppose...
