W2k peer networking problem - who has it working?

MrChicken -- forgotten how to ping. How do I ping another lan computer? I've got progs. that ping remote locations setup on the laptop, but the Tbird isnt' that far along. This problem has sort of stopped me dead in my tracks in the application migration. Thanks heaps for making the effort.

MrChicken -- Netbios was in fact not turned on on the laptop. Win98se networking didn't need it with IPX/SPX turned on and the Client and File Sharing services bound to it. But I tried turning it on on the laptop, as well as on W2k on the TBird. No change, unfortunately. I wonder if there...

I'm REALLY stumped. I've rooted around in everything in W2k related to Networking that I can find and tried stuff without success. Since my W2k is an OEM version, Mr. Softie doesn't want to hear from me!!!

Yes, TCP/IP is turned on as well. (Wouldn't be able to get the internet over the lan without it.)

Raid channel as non-Raid???

You need both the Via 4-in-1 (and USB) drivers, and the Highpoint drivers. The Via ones cover everything else on the motherboard other than the Highpoint controller.

Best swap file size with huge ram
