Need more pixel real estate, is 4k the answer?

1440p is a good compromise in either 16:9 or ultrawide. It's still a significant increase in real-estate over 1080p without making the text so small as to be unreadable. Unless you have the space for a very large 4K monitor such as the phillips one which is becoming more and more popular.

How old is your primary GPU?

R9 290 bought January 2016. The card has been pretty good, but I recently upgraded to a 1440p 144Hz display so I'd like to upgrade to a GTX 1070 in the near future.

Have you ever called 911 to report a drunk driver?

We have the road signs here as well to call 911 and report drunk drivers, however I called once for someone who was clearly impaired (swerving all over, going through stop signs etc) and they never dispatched anyone, or followed up.

If you're looking to upgrade go to the HD700 or HD800. If you're looking to Sidegrade look at the DT880. The DT880 is in a similar class to the HD600, but will be a bit brighter.

Also make sure that Windows is set to use your AMD card as the default output device. Otherwise it will most likely be transmitting through your onboard sound.

Is there a difference between "HDR" in 4K televisions and HDR in video games?

These guys are right. HDR in video games is nothing more than a graphical effect - kind of bloom on steroids. HDR in terms of TV technology means the display can physically show much brighter and much darker shades. In other words much better dynamic range.
