Oblivion finally benchmarked!

How much $ would it cost to retire to space??

I wouldn't be surprised if ion drives became more cost-effective within the next 20-50 years. If they took over rocket propulsion, the fuel needs would go way down. If you don't have plans for reentry, the execution might only be a couple hundred million dollars. 70 billion dollars should do...

Is 68dB Really Loud?

Normal conversation at 1' is 60dB. +8dB is twice that loud. So think of being caught a food away from a conversation where tones are raised. That's what 68dB is.

Is the Arctic Cooling SILENTCER 64 ULTRA good?

I've got a Silencer 64 TC in my compy back home. They're a very quiet breed. I'm running an Ath 64 3500+ off of it, and the cooler has no problems with that. I avoided Zalman for a couple reasons: Real heavy, and real huge. I've mounted the Silencer 64 TC in a uATX case which didn't have room...

Just installed ZALMAN 7000B AlCu - Very happy

Was discussed to death here. The XP90 plus noisy fan (or XP 120 plus noisy fan) is going to be the best for OCing and cooling your processor. The Zalman is going to be better for quiet operation with a mildly warm CPU. That's what it's designed for.

Alternative to Sonata and 3000B?

I have a Sonata case. The drive door is extremely easy to remove. You press on the plastic near the top hinge and just pull it out. Though if you're opposing the front door on the grounds of aesthetics, go ahead. It looks like you're looking for a black case. If you have your heart set on...

How often do you reapply thermal paste?

I use AS5, because it was packaged free with a cooler and the tube hasn't run out yet. Don't reapply unless you have a problem, ever. If your HS falls off, then reapply; if you change processors, clean, polish, reapply... but otherwise, just plain don't. AS5 is not hard to apply. Just make...

Does anyone have a Zalman CNPS7700-Alcu??
