Laptop sound - Possible dead OpAmp?

I've installed a fresh version of windows 7 on it, so it's doubtful to be a hotkey switch ( no crapware, etc ) As for taking it apart, I've already got it apart and down to the motherboard ( I have no problem taking computers apart. I own a computer repair shop )

To me, this doesn't make any logical sense. If one operating system reports functionality in the device, then it wouldn't be software. Linux wouldn't change anything, unless somehow linux was addressing the device in a whole different way (mapping, irq's, etc ).

Laptop sound - Possible dead OpAmp?

So, I have this Toshiba Satellite l305-something ( hard to read, sticker mangled ) and I'm having a very strange problem. Everything *seemingly* works on it, however, there is no sound output. Drivers are installed, sound card shows up under device manager, windows basically reports no issues...

Closing laptop lid causes screen to flicker Part !!

I've had this problem be both the connection, and the screen. cheapest fix would be to replace the cable first.

Gpu issues: sudden coil whine and faulty fan after cleaning

If under warranty, send it back. If not, and if you feel like you're confident in your knowledge, I'd say take the fan apart ( retention clip on the back side ), clean it, lube it with some 3 in 1 or a gun lube ( NOT WD-40 ), put it back together, plug it in correctly, and you should be fine. If...

computer simply locked up

There's several things that could cause a lockup. Psu, memory, overheating ( less likely ), bad sectors, etc. I'd check the psu last. Memtest86 would be my first course, then run a chkdsk /r on your hdd. From there, with the computer off, see if you can freely spin your cpu fan without it...

Reload W7 on Acer laptop

Agreed with ^^^^^ Otherwise, you could always Ghost over your old hdd to your new ssd, then fix any file system errors/corruptions from there.

Agreed. It sounds like a struggling fan to me. Not uncommon in most power supplies. I once had a psu who's fan I had to clean and lube ever 4 months. It would bind up and quit otherwise.

I can't uninstall my OS (WINDOWS 8)

Doing the refresh, like mentioned, will fix your problems. It will do the same thing as doing a fresh reinstall. I'd suggest this first.
