    Awesome card! Their power consumption values for the boards alone seem high though? But regardless, 612w for an overclocked card is massive! People thinking about buying it and increasing voltage better make sure their PSU is up to the task.

    Installed my Gigabyte 780ti oc on my trusty old i7-860 rig. Stock clocks are 1020, boost 1080 but it never went below 1150 according to afterburner.

    Well I bit the bullet. I ordered a Gigabyte ti oc edition. Coming from a 5870, and tired of waiting for the non ref 290s, I figured this would last me a long time. Playing at 2560x1080 if games support it.

    Halo cards are always disproportionally more expensive than their closest follow up card. The good thing this time around is that there are plenty of alternatives from both sides. I don't think there's anyone that will feel unhappy with how the graphics card scene looks after tomorrow compared...

    Maybe due to a difference in driver used? PCPer used V5, [H] used V6. Dunno if that could account for that.

    I can't help but think that maybe why the reference cooler is only adequate at best, is that maybe AMD never intended to ship a lot of them. It shouldn't come as a surprise to them that their own chip runs hot, too hot for their cooler, and that it'd be something they would get a lot of flack...

    Ha, I like your post because you have exactly the same setup as I do. Same cpu, mobo, ram, vid card, and while you have satisfied your urge to get a 280x, I'm still eyeballing one myself. :D

    I'm looking forward to a shootout between the MSI Twin Frozr (maybe they'll design a Triplet Frozr now!), Gigabyte Windforce, Asus Matrix and Sapphire Toxic editions of the card.
