It depends how you use it. The mini is just incredible in size/weight. But on balance I'd go for the larger screen for films, photos, web readability, etc.

As a wired option I like the little MS notebook mice. They're light and have short cables. Depends how far away your USB socket is though. I actually use an Apple keyboard so it plugs into the side of that, hence the need for a short cable.

I'm running an X220 which has been fantastic over the last two years.
Currently considering a T440s for the larger display, but it's still not available, despite having been announced in July!
ThinkPad users would usually use nothing else.

Apparently. There's been what feels like a long wait for the T440s, which seems to hit a sweet spot with 14" FHD yet weighing around 1.5kg IIRC, as it was announced back in July.
Any time now apparently. Should be available for CTO too.

I wouldn't go beyond 23/24" for 1080. I've used 23" at 1080 and 24" at 1200 and both work well.
I think 27" would be too much for this resolution - too much panning probably required.
I use a 27" at 2560x1440 and that works really well.

^I'm waiting for the ThinkPad T440s to start shipping - might be worth you considering. Very light for a 14" and looks like it's going to be a decent machine. Supposed to be available this month.
