ASUS P2L97-DS and 2 Celeron 400 won't boot

Hi, I'm hoping someone can offer some suggestions... I have an old ASUS P2L97-DS, and I want to drop 2 Celeron 400mhz slot 1 processors in it. But when I do, the screen won't light up or anything.. I can put 2 PII 233 Mhz in it and it works. I can put 1 Celeron 400mhz in either of the two...
