Raptor 74gig VS 200gig SATA performance differences?

It really all depends. If you need the space there is no comparison. If you need to save a few seconds, tops, then you want the Raptor. There really isn't going to be all that much difference in the real-world. Benchmarks show what appears to be a big difference. What a human can notice however...

You will not have to format to install XP on your D:\ drive. It should give you the option to install it to any partition already created without destroying said partition. \Dan

Will a ATA/133 drive work in a ATA/100 system?

Or close to breaking 100 MB/s. And I don't know of any that can even get past 66 MB/s by themselves (ie; not in RAID in perfect conditions). \Dan

RAID 0 worth it or not

I thought we had it straight already. Sometimes it is worth it, sometimes it is not. And it largely depends on the person. I personally saw no benefit when I had a RAID0 array. Was the RAID0 faster? Undoubtedly yes. Was it fast enough for me to notice in real world usage? Absolutetly not. Why...

Uninstalling IE6.0

Typing an URL in the Exploer/My Computer address bar opens the URL in the Exploer/My Computer Window, that is how integrated IE is into the OS. Windows 2000 is the same. If you "uninstall" IE all you are doing is removing the shortcut. IE is integrated into every Windows OS since Windows 95...

Upgrade 95 to ME or 98

I remember Windows 95 as someone who goes to a school and sometimes helps with the computers they get donated. Several of them have Windows 95. Several of them have Windows ME and several have 98. Since I use them all about the same, I think I "remember" them all pretty well. I have more...

Is this a good monitor?

If you play games or watch DVDs with your computer, currently 16ms response times are the "standard" for what is acceptable. Faster would of course be better, but from what I've seen/heard 16ms is pretty good. \Dan

The only "modern" WIndows OS worse than Windows 95 is Windows ME. You should be able to find them, like was said, hit up the FS/FT forum. \Dan

Difference between using the IDE cable and USB 2.0?

Since your external enclosure will need to bridge from USB to IDE you are still using IDE. With modern drives, the difference should be negligable, with speed slighly favoring internal drives in some cases. I wouldn't worry about it, as I said, any difference will be negligable in real-world...
