Interesting I did not even know that the 9.3 drivers would work on Windows 7. I did assume that it was a driver issue however. I also notice that MS has a driver they suggest I install, maybe I'll give that one a try first. Then try 9.7 ... Thanks, ERIC

Windows 7 RTM x64 Crash on resolution change

Basically I have 2 Windows 7 RTM boxes (setup via my MSDN copy) and they both have ATI video cards installed driver 9.8. They work great, but if I attempt to change resolutions or even the primary display on either of them they crash with a win32k.sys driver error every time (same exact error)...

Sound Blaster X-fi, Windows x64 no MIC on back of card

Amazing, but I saw a new Beta was out on the Creative site 2.14.0001 or some such and it now works. As you said Creative Drivers suck, but maybe they are getting better? ERIC

Ok, so on board sound is disabled, the card can playback 5.1, 2.1 ,and head phones, everything is fine there, but after 2 reinstalls of the OS I still can not speak into the MIC and get Windows to recognize any input. The MIC works on other systems so its fine, the problem is Windows XP x64...

ATI X2600XT, video card and 64bit Windows run the other direction

Yep the driver issues were solved by 7.7 in the nic of time as I had to send back the card tomorrow. On a down note AVIO or whatever it is called does not accelerate Video (Power DVD or pureVideo) under windows x64 (but works under vista). ERIC

ATI X2600XT, video card and 64bit Windows run the other direction

So I got my X2600XT today to replace an old x1800XL, installed it and all was fine Video works, but when I tried to install drivers for the on board "High Definition Audio Bus", I get no drivers found. This is the same audio solution as the 2900XT so its been around for 3 driver revisions now...

Thanks for the suggestiosn, looks like its most likely BIOS, now if a MB does not support Core 2 Duo becuase of BIOS how can one sell it as supporting the Chip, not many people have a second socket 775 CPU laying around to use to flash teh BIOS so it does support Core 2 Duos. Oh well I will try...

1. Not much more I can test without alternate hardware, since with one of every part I can not begin to work out what the prolem. 2. As for sound no, very unimpressed, ABIt and MSI both have meaning full error display, but ASUS does not, why not give me an idea whats wrong instead of forcing...

Currently on Order new P5B MB, 1 GB of Mushkin RAM, and a P4 805 CPU, why well if you spend 2K + on a system why not spend another $375 to test everything. Basicly this way I can test the MB, MEMORY, and CPU most likely I can send back the CPU un-opened same with the MB, but worst case I fit...
