I would not use an internal drive for backup become infected with malware the infection can easily move to the second drive. It is best to use a external drive that can be turned off easily. I only turn on my external backup drive when I do a backup.

That is definitly too high for the ICH. You may want to check the heatsink to make sure it's on there in the correct manner. In fact it might be wise to remove the HS clean off the chip, put new thermal paste on reassemble.

huh? not sure what you mean here but you can have 2 partitions on a SSD put Windows on one and your apps on another. Also you can have the same 2 partitions and put Windows and apps on the first partition and store data on the second.
