Asus a7v266-e chip upgrade help

Try removing the battery or discharging the CMOS. Do this after you know the power supply is switch to off or unplugged. Also download a BIOS update if discharging the CMOS doesn't work. Flash the BIOS with a working processor.

Bios flashing with cdrom

I see floppy drives at every computer store. Use your FDD cable that came with your motherboard. Then hook the twisted wires to the floppy drive. Look for the number 1 on PCB.

Yes, it can handle restarts. Every week or two I run scan disk or Norton Disk Doctor. I also defrag using Norton Speed Disk because Microsoft's Defrag is slow.
