Ok, here's my experience with Acer Laptops as well as a HUGE question that I'm totally stumped on.
Rig: Acer Aspire 3690 w/ 80GB HDD with several partitions.
I low level formatted the drive with the appropriate Hitachi tools. So now it's a blank drive just like Vrolok likes it. Realized...
Wow, ok this might be overdoing it with the questions, but I have another.
Let's say I've had several machines (motherboards) in the past. I couldn't remember what machines (whether I still own them or not) were used to install with the specific keys. Is there anyway to find that out...
sorry, i meant i don't want to go through the installation process only to find that i have exasperated all my uses in a windows cd. i believe the limit was 2 machines? i can't remember now, but these were all purchased legally from university campus stores.
I have a similar question: can you check to see if you can activate your copy anywhere?
(rephrased: is there a place that you can check to see if you've installed to the max amount of times you can?) Not exactly sure how to word this.
I don't want to go through the entire process of...
Need some help here in the office. Our local IT person, needs some help here so I figured I'd help her out here.
The office has several IBM Thinkpad T42 with the Radeon 7500 (all on docking stations). They want to use the span feature on dual monitor hook ups. They've tried both software...
Ok, if anyone is curious... I couldn't find anything about the DLINK DI-624 and the WDS function. I also found substantial evidence that the DI-624 does NOT support WDS. So I can't hook up the Linksys to the DLINK anyhow.
I should have purchased two of those Linksys ones...
To BUMP:
is there a way to connect the DLINK DI-624 WDS to a Linksys WRT64G? I know the Linksys can WDS, but there's no function on the DLINK. doesn't only one of them need to be a bridge? the other can just be a simple wireless router right?
Just purchased a Linksys and DLINK. Would these two WDS? Where to find out how to get these two connected?
Linksys WRT54G & DLINK DI-624.
The Linksys seems simple, but I don't see any option in the DLINK.
What are some programs one could use to "wardrive?" I'm trying to position my wireless router in a place with least interference... So far, I can only recall using Boingo.

I just had this problem on several routers in several separate networks. I turned off the wireless radio and now all my ported ethernet connections don't disconnect every second, but of course I don't get wireless connection anymore. It is clear that there is just too much interference in the...
Thanks Jack! The 4th answer is exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to see if I could find a good deal on this, any ideas? Should I keep these the same brand? I'll probably connect it wired into a switch port on the DLINK and let is broadcast for the backrooms.
Also, I think you touched...
I tried the antennas, well one - a Hawkings one. It did NOT do anything for the signal strength. I was thinking of purchasing a powered antenna but those are close to $100. Now I'm looking into AP from two routers or maybe just running a long ass cat5 to the other rooms...
