Advice for replacing middle of the road gaming rig

Hello everybody, The MOBO on my 2.5 year old gaming rig recently crapped out and I need to upgrade now. I use this machine solely for gaming (all other work is done on my Mac) and need to get the best bang for my buck. I currently play games such as Call of Duty 4, Company of Heroes...

ya, I think your right about the ejection thing, have to keep that in mind. I'm surprised it could screw it up that bad. I've had the drive for 2 or 3 years so I doubt its under warranty. I've done a google search on the topic and have seen several people with my problem and it seems data...

I'm no expert either...this is my first mac. I didn't try to write anything to the HD, just copy stuff from the HD onto the mac. Surely there is some way to recover the data from the HD. Eric

can I use bluetooth headset with computer?

password protect individual hard drives?

I have two hard drives in my computer. One is my main drive w/ XP sp2 on it as well as all my programs, while the other hard drive is purely for storage of music, pictures video, etc... I was wondering if it is possible to password protect my storage HD so that nothing can be viewed...

problem accessing data

towards the end of January, I got a virus on my computer, I don't know which one. I have managed to get rid of the virus for hte most part (have put a stop to the browser hijacking) however, my desktop background has been disabled and I can't get it to come back up. That is not my main problem...

mothorboard monitor 5 compatible with new mobos?

I'm trying to figure out a way to monitor my CPU temp on my new system from within XP. MBM 5 does not have my board listed. In the setup wizard under MSI, there is an option for a K8N neo Platinum board, but when I select this board, MBM tells me my CPU temp is 127 C. I downloaded Everest...

anyone else seen this problem?

when I say warping, I mean like what happens in a game whne your getting lagged. I really don't think its the video card, RAM, or CPU because I can run any map in either of those games with plenty of bots and I don't experience the same problem. My ping is <100 and this effect still occurs...

anyone else seen this problem?

I just built a new system and everything is running great except for one thing. Whenever I try and play first person shooters (Battlefield: Vietnam, UT 2004) I get an odd video effect which causes the image to warp this happens both when I'm moving and standing still. My FPS never goes below...

what is going on with my CPU temp

I just installed Mother board monitor 5 and went to check my CPU temps. MBM 5 says my CPU is running at 127C (yes, celsius, not Farenheit). I immediatly restarted computer and went into the BIOS which said my cpu temp was 39C. Is this some sort of error or what? can a CPU even run at 127C...

accessing a IDE HD with an OS on it
