Iwill XP333 or MSI K7T266 PRO2-RU for new mobo?

I would probably go with the Iwill XP333 too especially after reading the Anandtech January KT266A mobo roundup. If you do decide to go with a KT266A mobo, then you may also want to consider the Epox 8KHA+ as well...

Which board is better?

After reading the motherboard roundup article from this site, I'd say the Epox mobo is the better choice. It has the Award BIOS instead of AMI BIOS and seems to be more stable than the Gigabyte....

Need help to pick up a case

The enlight cases are pretty good too...I have one with an Enermax Power Supply and it's been pretty rock solid so far with my K7S5A.... I think I may go for another PSU with more power though since I want to add more devices...

Does the ECS K7S5A Support 1GHz Duron?

Yup...it certainly does...I have a 1 Ghz Duron installed on my K7S5A...it also supports the Athlon XP's as well...

Calling all ECS K7S5A (SiS735) motherboard owners!

I too was hesitant about getting this board and thought from the reviews that it might be too good to be true...but I've now built 4 systems using this board and no major problems yet. I've come across some quirks but nothing I've been able to work around. Probably, the worst problem I've had...

Promise Ultra 100 drives me nuts!! w/Asus A7V 266E

I was having almost the exact same problem with my Promise Ultra100 TX2 controller on a K7S5A. No matter what I did and what slot the controller was in, the BIOS would never expand and load. I called Promise and they said that they were getting a lot of calls on the VIA 266 Northbridge which...

NOW it works (K7S5A)...and another question, regarding power issues

I've had that message pop up once before too. But after I loaded the setup defaults and then reconfigured the BIOS the way I like it, it never came back. But I agree it is strange for it to appear straight out of the box....

K7S5A and SB Live 5.1??

Thanks for the feedback...I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pickup the SB Live 5.1 unless someone else can recommend a better sound card in the same price range... Also, I'm not sure if you had the TX2 before or after you got the SB Live 5.1, but do you remember if your drives were detected or not if...

That't too bad about the K7S5A...so far I've had pretty good success with the 4 systems I've built with that board... As for a replacement...the Shuttle AK31 v3.1 seems to be a popular choice. I've had Gigabyte in the past and never had a problem with them, but I don't know how they're like...

Need Opinions: What to do when no AGP POST with k7s5a?

Hhhmmm...it could be that your onboard lan is fried....do you have a hub to plug into to see if the LED's on the hub show that a connection is made or another system with a NIC that you can connect to with a cross patched network cable? I really wish there were some LED's on this board so that...

Mouse Problem with ECS K7S5A

Is the mouse just slow or does it stop working altogether? Is it slow even when using a different X windows manager (ie. Gnome or KDE)? What version of Linux are you using?

Epox 8KHA+ vs Epox 8KHA

Myself and a friend of mine jokingly stated a while back, that we should never buy a mobo with a VIA chipset unless you see an "A" at the end of it...little did we know how true this might turn out as it seems that VIA likes to fix their bugs with their chipsets and release an "A" version...
